College Prep

Last night Caleb, Emily, and I were up late while Emily finished her essays for her BYU application. Today was the priority deadline for applications, meaning that those who get their applications in early (by December 1st) get first consideration when it comes time to admit new students.

Caleb finished his essays and submitted his application online, I guess by ten o'clock. Emily was still working, but she was so tired and got a little punchy. Caleb and I joined in and we were all laughing and being pretty silly! The problem for Emily was the word limit. Two hundred words isn't nearly enough for an expressive person like Emily to tell about one of her passions and how she had developed knowledge and creativity in that area! Of course she chose music.

Today Caleb was back at it, searching for scholarships. The work for both of them continues, and their mother is learning things she never knew about the college admissions process. Thank goodness I have some family members to consult with who have been through this before!

College prep is sooo long. Almost as tiring as job searching, but that never ends. In the end it usually pays off and you luck out with tuition money though and the right school!
