Emily's Junior Prom

Emily finally found a dress for Prom when the time was almost up. Talk about stressful! Remember when she passed up her dream dress for around $400 on sale? Since then she had gone all over the place searching for something modest and at a reasonable price. We were both about to give up hope, then she went to the last store right before it closed and found some dresses that were on sale for $189. They had been marked down just for the day to $100. That's what she paid. I was happy, she was happy! It had to be altered, but thankfully, I have a very kind friend who used to make and alter prom dresses professionally. She was so gracious....she had to undo all that applique and the beading on top of it, and then redo it all after she made the alterations. She re-did the beading by hand! Needless to say, we owe her bigtime!
Emily came home from the daytime portion of her date and went to get her hair done. The boys showed up at the house before she did. It was a little awkward for the rest of us! She was about ten minutes late, and then she still had to get dressed and do her makeup.
I made them pose in the front room for a picture, even though they were running late.
At the dance (it was Junior Prom) they had a "floor show" which consisted of introductions of all the Juniors in couples (not all of them were escorted in the promenade by their dates). After that, the Juniors did two choreographed dances which they had learned earlier in the week. It was fun. I would post the video, but there were some seriously immodest girls there, and I wouldn't want to corrupt anyone. After the two performed dances, they had a parent dance where Emily danced with her dad. It was cute. I was getting choked up watching them. It was a fun night for Emily!
