Emily and Hannah played at the violin festival on Saturday, February 28th, 2009. Hannah was feeling awful because she had stomach flu for the two days before that. She was weak and achy, but she had a blessing and was able to make it there to play. She played two solo pieces and also played a duet with her teacher's daughter. She got an Excellent rating for the duet, and a Superior rating for her solo playing.
Emily played in the Concerto division. She played with her music and was not rated. She and her teacher agreed that she would use the experience to get the critique from the judges in preparation for another competition in March. Here is Emily with her accompanist, Charity Dye.
